Army helps school to hold sports meet

Students and teachers at Eluthumadduval PTMS Vidyalaya conducted their annual sports meet recently with the assistance given by the officers and other ranks of 522 Brigade under the supervision of its Brigade Commander on the directions of Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Commander Security Forces, Jaffna.

The Chief Guest for the final day of the sports meet was Colonel D.M.M.S Bandara, the Brigade Commander of 522 Brigade. Awards and certificates were distributed among the winners of this sports meet by Brigade Commanders, of 521, 522 and 524 Brigades. A large crowd including Hindu clergy, senior Army officers, education officials, principals from other schools, Grama Niladaris and soldiers witnessed the event.

Army officers and other ranks of 522 Brigade worked with enthusiasm and dedication to provide all the facilities necessary to make this event a success. The school principal and the parents of the students praised the Army for the contribution they made for the success of their sports meet.
